If you would like to try out Aikido in Umeå, beginners are welcome at any time. Please see front page for starting date each semester.
In Björkstadens Aikido Club we practice traditional Aikido known as Takemusu Aikido or Iwama Style, following the late Morihiro Saito Shihan, 9th dan Aikikai. This style of Aikido emphasizes strong basic practice and riai which is the connection between buki-waza (staff- and sword techniques) and tai-jutsu (unarmed techniques). The training fee is 700 SEK per semester. We practice in Nydalahöjd:
